The RM1200D Rail Corrugation Measuring instrument is manufactured by V&P of Germany, designed for measuring rail corrugation wear in switch areas or at single points. Based on a reference length of 1.2 meters, it automatically measures the vertical distance between the rail head and the reference surface, saving the data on a handheld PC terminal. The data analysis software filters the raw data to determine the wear depth within each wavelength range, enabling a quantitative analysis of the extent of rail wear. The collected results can be used to assess the severity of rail wear and to develop rail grinding plans.
